We've had the best luck with air bnb in both Barcelona and Seville... but if you're driving down the coast I can make more recommendations since we live in the area in a place called calpe (if you're looking for a beach holiday it's the cheapest in the area).. also I recommend booking a hire car asap as things get booked quickly

The El Born district in Barcelona is very cool and central to everything.

Try to visit Ronda Spain. Beautiful place if you have seen Ferdinand its the backdrop of the movie.

Barcelona Accommodation Recommendations
My husband and I are flying to Spain for the month of May. We are trying to decide whether we should fly into Barcelona and make our way to Cádiz or fly to Seville and make our way to Barcelona.
We are looking for a place to stay in Barcelona that is clean and has reasonable prices. We are not looking for anything fancy.
We are thinking about finding our accommodation as we go, but would like to book a few nights in advance in Barcelona.
Here are a few areas that are recommended for staying in Barcelona:
- El Born: A trendy neighborhood with narrow streets, charming boutiques, and lively nightlife.
- El Raval: A vibrant and multicultural neighborhood with a mix of historic buildings and modern art galleries.
- Gothic Quarter: The historic heart of Barcelona, with medieval architecture, narrow streets, and lively plazas.
- Gracia: A bohemian neighborhood with colorful houses, independent shops, and charming cafes.
Here are a few recommended hostels in Barcelona:
- Hostel One Paralelo: A modern and clean hostel with a rooftop terrace and a friendly staff.
- Generator Hostel Barcelona: A stylish and lively hostel with a rooftop bar and a social atmosphere.
- Sant Jordi Hostels Rock Palace: A historic building with a rooftop terrace and a cool and funky vibe.
- The Hipstel Parallel: A trendy and design-led hostel with a rooftop pool and a bar.
- Ibis Styles Barcelona City Bogatell: Not a hostel, but a budget-friendly hotel with a comfortable and convenient location near the beach.
I hope this information helps you plan your trip to Barcelona. Have a wonderful time!

My husband and I are flying to Spain for the month of May. Not sure whether we’ll fly into Barcelona and make our way to Cádiz or fly to Seville and make our way to Barcelona. Any recommendations of places to stay in Barcelona? Reasonable prices - just clean, doesn’t have to be fancy. Or areas best to stay in would be appreciated too. We’re thinking we’ll find our accommodation as we go but would like a few nights booked in advance in Barcelona. Thanks for any advise anyone may have for us.
