Disney passes are a fixed rate they are the same price no matter where you end up booking them if you see different prices it is simply a fluctuation in exchange rate

Profile picture of Billie

Billie

wrong. Various hotels offer discounts not available at gates

Profile picture of Shane

Shane

You can also buy discounted passes through travel agents and airlines as part of a bundle.

Profile picture of Chris

Chris

Billie then thy are covering the cost themselves with the commission from the hotel. I have been a travel agent for 12 years. With the exception of a residency rate from time to time Disney as a policy has never and will never discount their product

Profile picture of Billie

Billie

Chris I assume they are. 38 years with airline, there have always been discounts offered at hotels

Chris- Disney regularly provides theme park pass and hotel discounts to Canadian travellers, especially in the off season. Saying they 'never and will never discount' simply isn't true.
Here is a link with the details to a recent, but expired sale for Canadian residents: https://www.familyfuncanada.com/exclusive-offer.../

Chris

Yes this is true. But the hotel pays full price. They are covering the difference

The discount at the link I provided does not require any hotel registration to use. Only proof of Canadian residency. It's a popular discount Disney has done 1-2 times/year over the past few years.

Disney was offering a Canadian discount, I think like 25% off the price. Don't know if it's still being offered but check their website!
Mousesavers is another good website to check out for Disney related deals

Thanks but i checked that offer expired for travel before may 23. hoping it will come back again soon.

Damn! Guess it's only offered in their off season...

The cost to buy passes through Disney is actually more when you factor in the exchange rate. Even with the 25% off. Unless you’re fortunate enough to have $$ in a US account, It’s cheaper to buy passes in Canadian dollars now, especially when the exchange rate is like 37%.

Also, get Disney gift cards in Canada before you go.. way better than the us exchange when you get there and so convenient

u mean from the disney store??

Profile picture of Tina

Tina

Lisa Chong no the Disney gift cards you see at grocery stores or some drug stores like London drugs. They’re white with Mickey on them. You don’t need to pay forex fee, they just exchange at the current exchange rate. They’re good if you don’t have a USD credit card.

Profile picture of Liza

Liza

Oooo okay thanks good to know.

Profile picture of Heidi

Heidi

Lisa Chong no from any retailer that sells gift cards. We got them at our local co-op grocery store

Profile picture of Tina

Tina

We always get ours through undercover tourist for both Disneyland and Disney world.

Profile picture of Liza

Liza

Yes i was looking at that too i got our universal passes there.

they are the cheapest unless Disney is running a deal. They most likely won’t give any more discounts with Star Wars open now.

Liza

Tina thats what i was thinking too. i still have a month but i like to have it purchased before i leave.

Profile picture of Tina

Tina

Lisa Chong if you’re planning on going to other places like LEGO land you might want to look into the SoCal pass through Costco.
