I haven't been yet, but I am planning to go in September. It is near the monsoon season, and you might experience typhoon according to my readings. But, good thing is that it will be cheaper than the high season. Have you been able to find good deals?

Sorry I was talking about South east Asia. I was in Korea in September-Oct and had a great time. The fall is a great time to visit, with the harvest season and all.

i see. Perhaps visit China, Korea, Japan earlier, and then South East Asia closer to November. Let me know if you are visiting Korea. i can recommend the hostels I stayed at, and the places to visit outside of Seoul that people always forget about.

We did China from Hong Kong to Beijing and had travel China guide take care of hotel and transport bookings. Worked out great. 17 days cost us 2500 for absolutely everything Including visas and spending money.

Thailand Vietnam and Cambodia 3 weeks is costing us 2200each. But should cost you less if you're already in Asia. We did these 2 separately
