We've been using them for years! So far, we have a really good experience with them
When we travelled to Asia months ago, I got sick and was brought to the hospital (outpatient). They have provided 24/7 assistance, which is good. After returning to Canada, I submitted all the documents for medical reimbursement and within a week or two, they've reimbursed me - no question asked.

We are using them for a year policy right now and had to make a claim when my husband fell 10 days into the a 4 1/2 month trip as part of our travels. He needed emergency surgery to reattach all the quad tendons on his leg. We paid for everything upfront and submitted back to them. Very helpful and easy to deal with.

Primelink insurance out of Ontario was easy to file claims with. We used World Nomad a few times but made no claims.
Allianz Global required a lot of leg work to process claims in comparison. One claim took well over a year to process after several emails/phone calls (all pre-approved medical stuff). We did not renew our annual policy.

We also used them. Thankfully didn’t need to file a claim but when we had questions after purchasing, they were quick and pleasant to deal with. We will use them on our next trip!

I’ve used them for years and never had an issue with any claims I’ve made definitely recommend

I've used them and had to make a claim when our trip in 2020 couldn't happen. They were very good to deal with.

I had a good experience when I hurt my knee and almost needed to be sent home from Madagascar. Easy to deal with and would recommend

We use Medi-Quote. Much cheaper than lots of others, including RBC & AMA

Review of World Nomad Travel Insurance
World Nomad is a popular travel insurance provider that offers coverage for medical emergencies and trip cancellations. Many travelers have used their services, but the question remains - are they worth it?
Pros of World Nomad Travel Insurance
- Worldwide coverage for medical emergencies
- Flexible policies for trip cancellations
- Easy online claims process
- Good customer service
Cons of World Nomad Travel Insurance
- Some exclusions for pre-existing conditions
- Higher deductibles compared to other insurance companies
Overall, many travelers recommend World Nomad for their travel insurance needs. The costs of their policies are often much lower than other insurance companies, which may raise some questions about the quality of coverage provided.
Why are the costs a fraction of all the other insurance companies?
One possible reason for the lower costs of World Nomad travel insurance could be their focus on providing coverage for specific types of travelers, such as backpackers or adventure seekers. By tailoring their policies to meet the needs of these travelers, World Nomad is able to offer more affordable rates.
Additionally, World Nomad may have lower overhead costs compared to larger insurance companies, allowing them to pass on the savings to their customers.
Recommendation
While the costs of World Nomad travel insurance may be lower than other companies, it is important to carefully review the coverage provided to ensure it meets your specific needs. If you are a budget-conscious traveler looking for basic coverage for medical emergencies and trip cancellations, World Nomad may be a good option for you.
