Has anyone had a positive experience with sunwing? I need a mom break (apparently) and am looking for 5-7 days in Los Cabos or Ixtapa. sunwing seems to have some good prices for what I want (basic, quiet, clean) but lots of negative reviews of their company. I can go with the flow but need all the information beforehand. Thanks!

Worst company EVER! It didn't help that there was a torrential downpour in the Dominica for the first 4 days either. The rep was never around. The flight there, was delay Ed because we had to circle the airport for 2 hrs, then gas was low so had to get fuel elsewhere, etc. the part that made them " the worst co ever" was on departing day. Apparently the flight left Toronto late as there where mechanical issues....this was never relayed to us in the Dominican. We stood there with 2 small kids, ready for the buss at 5 pm, along with everyone else. No rep there, no sign telling us of the issue. We eventually asked another rep and found out the bus was coming at 7 for a 9 pm departure. Flight never left until 10pm which put us in TO in the middle of the night, I think around 3am. Never an apology, refund, voucher....nada. I don't care how good of a deal they could offer me....never, ever, would I use them again!

Do Ixtapa.. Been to Mexico 10 + times and Ixtapa is amazing, safe, and still authentic feel..

My hubby and I left the kids and stayed at Barcelo Los cabos deluxe a few years back and everything was awesome? From the food, to service to the rooms. We booked through westjet

sunwing's not great but it's a cheap flight and what do you really need the rep at the hotel for anyway! I say go for it as we did to PV in Dec. it was all good!

We've gone sunwing in the past with no issues.

Used sunning twice and have had no issues.

Friend of mine just got back from Mexico sun wing vacation.... Worst ever!! Too many things too mention. Resort not as described at all and paid for direct flights and had layover to name just a couple

I was in Mexico in Dec. Flew w/sunwing, flight was delayed,.. oh well it happens, vacation was fabulous!

Normally I would never have needed a rep, but they are supposed to be representing their company, especially when issues like what I experienced, happens. Maybe there is a direct correlation between cheap flights and poor maintenance of their planes!

Just got back from a holiday with sunwing. Not that bad, no worse then air transit. But it is one of the cheaper ones. We were in a Playa Del Carmen for two weeks. The sunwing reps at the resort were very good.

Not unless you want to take your life into your own hands. sunwing pilots are often foreign pilots who do not have to go through the rigorous training and testing that Canadian pilots do. Pay the few extra dollars and go with a westjet, air transat or air canada package.

People are way to hard on reviews. Discount airlines aren't going to be 5star. If your unsure book with another airline or try it out for yourself. Read reviews about the resorts. trip advisor is your best friend. I use it for all my travels and when I do my reviews. Which I travel 3-5 times a year. As I am right now in Southeast Asia and Japan.

I've gone with sunwing in the past with no issues. I would use them again without a question.

We been to Cuba 6 times through sunwing we have never had an issue always willing to help....

I used to be a travel agent. ..sunwing is perfectly fine. .. Yes it's a discounted fare so you may not have the most comfortable plane to fly on but most likely sunwing, westjet and a few others share the plane anyways! Might as well enjoy the savings of your cash!

sunwing is a nightmare! We will never fly them again!

Are they going to be there for you if something goes wrong with your holiday/flight? That's the question, and by past history, their customer service is in serious need of a makeover. Personally, I would never book with this company, and there are hundreds of travellers that have had terrible experiences with them that would agree. It's a gamble, really. If all things align and there are no issues, your fine. Depends if you want to take the chance or not.

Alice! I have been to dozens and dozens of AI in my lifetime and have never used/neede a rep. When I did, that sunwing person.....no where to be found!
