Siena is amazing! I also did the three cities of Montalcino, Pienza, and Montepulciano and it was amazing too! I'm also a big fan of Lucca and San Gimignano. Such a wonderful problem to have!
Shirley
So true. If you could only visit 2 cities again, which ones would they be?
Anna
Siena for sure. The second choice isn't as easy.
Carolyn
Siena and/or San Gimignano for sure!!!!!! Siena is larger (more shopping) and amazing to walk around at night BUT San Gimignano is unique with its towers and amazing gelato
Shirley
Gosh, I just need to reach out to you each time I have questions about a destination!!!
If you have accommodation recommendations in Siena, that would be super too. Thanks again. I hope you are well.
Carolyn
Shirley - love Italy...we go back at EVERY chance we can. I think Brian and I were Italian in another life
Shirley
Carolyn Lol!! Do you think it is worth it for me to rent a car (seems more trouble to find parking) or can I get away without one as Siena seems to be very pedestrian friendly.
Carolyn
We stayed at a villa about 20 minutes away (Galenda)Localita Galenda 1, 53013, Gaiole in Chianti Italy
Had a car but wouldn't have if we were staying in Siena
Jillian
Siena for sure!!!
Stephani
If the travel is easy (I'm not sure of this as we drove), Gubbio is absolutely STUNNING!!!!
Paulette
Viterbo, about 70,000 pop, so not too large, lots of Etruscan sites nearby, thermal baths http://www.italymagazine.com/.../best-kept-secret...
Paulette
Bomarzo was amazing, as was it's story -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardens_of_Bomarzo (20 KM from Viterbo) also Civita di Bagnoregio https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civita_di_Bagnoregio (30 KM from Viterbo)

Shirley
Looks stunning! Thank you.

Cinque Terre is you have not alreadydone the walk, or head to Amalfi and walk the Path of the Gods.
Diane
If you go to Amalfi coast, suggest you stay in Meta. Less resorty and expensive than other towns. Short train ride to most places. Great beach. Cheaper eats.

Looking for somewhere to visit after Montefollonico in the Tuscany area, for a solo traveler, for approx 3 nights. Walkable, good food (and wine is obvious), beautiful (rolling hills and such) enough to keep me busy with indoor and outdoor activities but is not too large of an urban city and not too small of a town. Excludes Pisa, Florence and Milan. What one city/town do you recommend? Been looking into Siena and Montepulciano. Or should I just head Positano/ Amalfi coast (I… See more
