What's the cheapest way to book a hotel in Vancouver for a weekend getaway?

Any suggestions for the best hotel booking site? So far, Travel Pony seems to be the cheapest. I'm looking for 2 nights in Vancouver in July. Hotel suggestions also appreciated....under $160 per night.

if you dont mind putting in an effort, use hotwire in conjunction with betterbidding.com and you should find the best deals in my experience. of course like every big city, if you're planning on visiting in the peak tourist time you're likely to find few low prices in prime areas

I've used the expedia unpublished rates on hotels twice now and done well. You pick an area and the star rating of a hotel, you receive something like 40% off but you don't know what hotel until after you pay. We had a swanky upscale hotel in Savannah Georgia for $90 a night, didn't do as well in Iceland with the hotel but it was liveable.

I've used both hotwire and expedia unpublished rates as well as priceline and Booking.com, and I personally have had good experiences including price-wise with them

Thanks, ended up booking the Blue Horizon with excellent reviews, $159.00 per night. I love the Travel Pony site, but couldn't find an extra discount coupon, so went with this one.

Google hotel search is great as well because they show hotels that are not bookable on the travel websites.

if you are not stuck on staying in a hotel, check airbnb

I have stayed at http://www.kingstonhotelvancouver.com/ twice now. Its cheap, no A/C, washrooms are down the hall, and breakfast is not much. At $160 you are probably looking for something better.

Thanks, we actually got a great deal at the Pan Pacific Hotel. So we're set. This one sounds great though!!

Pan Pacific is beautiful, but i recommend dining outside of the hotel as the last time I was there on a business trip i ordered room service and was charged about $60 for a large chicken caesar salad, can of soda, and mediocre desert!

Definitely won't be eating there!!!

I like booking.com.

I usually use Booking.com, but sometimes Travel Pony has much better prices and the "price match" can be a pain in the butt with Booking.com. This time I actually used Hotwire.
