From personal experience there is currently some super awesome deals to Cuba right now. I know you mentioned the heat, but there is still ways to stay cool and enjoy your beach destination.

Keep Zika in mind if you are considering starting a family soon.

San Francisco is awesome. You can also get on buses and do wine tour in Napa/Sonoma valley.

We thought about San Fran but I was told it's really smoggy in the summer?

I've travelled a lot, but hesitate to tell anyone where they should vacation. Totally depends on how much money you have and what you like to do .....if you want a beach vacation, go to the the Caribbean or Mexico. If you are really into food, San Francisco. Music and great food....New Orleans. History ....Washington d.c. A little of everything .....New York. You are right, it will be very hot in Mexico or Cuba. If you like the heat but want somewhere a little different, consider Belize, Bahamas or Costa Rica. Lots and lots of choices....only limits are your budget and your imagination. Enjoy!

We have not a huge budget, but one we can work with.
Personally I'd like to site see but am not sure where best would be (besides Europe cause that's out of our budget at the moment) I was thinking San Fran or even Montreal. My fiancé and I haven't traveled at all other than Mexico, which is why I was thinking there cause it would be easy and familiar

Megan Kelly you won't go wrong with either Montreal or San Francisco. Both have lots to see, great food and good weather in June.

If you do go to San Fran, I highly recommend the drive down the pacific coast highway to the town of Carmel by the Sea. It's a very charming seaside town and worth the two hour drive.

Do you like wine? If so, wine tour the Okanagan - had a wonderful holiday there last summer and going back again in June!

San Diego or Boston? New Orleans is wonderful but humid...although the spectacular food would make up for any weather concerns
how about Austin or Seattle?

Congrats! Number one romantic place I've been is staying in a hotel with a private balcony overlooking the Caldera in Santorini, Greece.

If you wanted the old world feel of Europe, then Quebec City is or very own hidden treasure. Highly recommend wandering there for a handful of days.

Honeymoon Destination Ideas: Beating the Heat and Exploring BC

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Planning a honeymoon can be an exciting yet daunting task, especially when considering factors like weather and location. While Mexico is a popular destination, your concerns about the heat during June are valid. Let's explore some alternative options that might suit your preferences better.

Beating the Heat: Cool Honeymoon Destinations

If you're looking to escape the sweltering heat, consider these destinations:

  • Alaska: With its breathtaking glaciers, scenic wilderness, and abundant wildlife, Alaska offers a refreshing and adventurous honeymoon experience. The summer months are perfect for activities like whale watching, hiking, and exploring the stunning natural landscapes.
  • Iceland: Known for its otherworldly landscapes, geothermal wonders, and stunning waterfalls, Iceland is a unique and romantic destination. June is an ideal time to visit, with mild temperatures and longer daylight hours, providing ample opportunities for exploring the island's natural and cultural attractions.
  • New Zealand: This island nation in the Southern Hemisphere boasts stunning scenery, from snow-capped mountains to pristine beaches. June falls during New Zealand's winter, offering cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, making it an ideal time for exploring outdoor activities and enjoying cozy accommodations.

Exploring British Columbia

If you're considering staying closer to home, British Columbia (BC) offers a wealth of breathtaking destinations perfect for a honeymoon:

  • Vancouver Island: With its stunning coastlines, pristine beaches, and charming towns like Tofino and Victoria, Vancouver Island is a popular honeymoon spot. June is an excellent time to visit, with mild temperatures ideal for hiking, whale watching, and enjoying the vibrant local culture.
  • Whistler: Known for its world-class skiing in the winter, Whistler transforms into an outdoor paradise during the summer months. June is a great time to visit, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, and exploring the stunning mountain scenery.
  • Okanagan Valley: This picturesque region is renowned for its vineyards, wineries, and stunning lakes. June is the perfect time to visit, with warm temperatures ideal for wine tasting, kayaking, and enjoying the region's culinary delights.

Remember, no matter which destination you choose, the most important thing is creating lasting memories with your new spouse. Consider your interests, budget, and desired honeymoon experience to make the best decision for you both.
