Has anyone done the Sandals/Beaches resorts? Worth it??

I stayed at Beaches Turks & Caicos in 2012. We are a family of 4. My kids still talk about it. One of the best vacations we have done. If it didnt cost so much, we would keep going, year after year.

My kids were 8 and 5 when we went. I only booked the basic room. I had heard you sometimes got automatic room upgrades anyways, so I didn't worry about booking the best of the best. We were only in our room to sleep and I didn't feel like forking out a few extra thousand just for a nicer bed or a butler. Beaches is known for its hospitality and they delivered. The food was great. They were able to cater to specific needs and if they didn't have something, they went out of their way to find it. There was one bar we stopped at (and hubby asked if they had Crown Royal. They didn't, but the next time we walked by, they knew our names and had it. I can't say enough great things about the trip. The staff were amazing, the beach is absolutely beautiful and the diving is some of the best! Feel free to ask any questions. I do hope to get back to this property one day...but given how much the costs have risen, it likely won't be for a long time.

Beaches is geared towards families and Sandals is for couples. We loved our stay at their resort in Antigua which was awarded the most romantic Sandals resort. Great food, rooms, sports, and entertainment made our stay a delight. All of their resorts are similar, so u just have to decide which country you prefer!

Deb Perkes thank you so much! We are probably going to book. It looks awesome from pics, but it's nice to have a personal reference... I asked about rooms because we are taking kids about the same age, and hubs and I wanted to chill and have a few drinks when the girls go to bed... I'll just look for something with a balcony so we can lounge
also, did you leave your kids at the kids club? Super comfortable or nerve racking. We worry mostly about security...

We left the kids at the kids clubs quite a few times. Once we even went off resort to go diving. I was really nervous about it but it was fine. We went out for a kid free dinner one night too (I think we went to Schooners or something) - we were given a cell phone in case there were any problems. There were no issues at all.
If you are planning in going to Turks, and any time soon, the resort was impacted by Hurricane Irene and there was quite a bit of damage. You may wish to contact the resort first to ensure all will be up and running for when you plan to go. Just an idea. Have an amazing time!!
